Every midi track in Ableton has a drop down menu for selecting the destination for your track. Your midi interface should be one of the selections so make sure you select that. Also make sure the midi channel set on your track and the receive channel on the LP are the same. If neither of these fixes...

Maybe one other thing I'd like to know: does anyone feel that the Phatty does anything *better* than the Voyager? I know it has a different sound (that's another thing I like -- the extra immediacy and roughness in the LP sound), but aside from the subjective stuff are there particular capabilities...

Well there's always Arturia's Mini-Moog VSTi. Depending on what you mean by not enough room, you could go for a Creamware 1U rack mount synth that's a digital recreation of the Mini-Moog. Then if you were doing any control changes you wouldn't have the latency of a VSTi. The Creamware rack synths ru...

For $600 you can get the perfect mod unit for your LP. I bought Spectral Audio's Neptune II The Neptune II looks interesting, but for me it would be a replacement rather than an adjunct to an LP, in that they're both monophonic analogue subtractive synthesizers with similar architecture. The enhanc...

For $600 you can get the perfect mod unit for your LP. I bought Spectral Audio's Neptune II, which is three oscillators, HP/LP filter, and it works perfectly at modulating the LP. Route the LP out into the Neptune external in and you have a Band Pass or a Notch filter. Oscillator 3 can be switched a...

I really don't think that currently you can use the LFO and another mod source simultaneously. But you do have stage that can send to two destinations. Since the LFO is digital, there might be a way they could implement a second mod source on an OS update. I'd definitely throw them a suggestion. I h...

I do think it's a one by one process, unless you have the software editor and it can paste to multiple locations at once. What you do to copy any patch to another place is you call up that patch hit store once, move the knob till it shows the patch number you want to copy to, then hit store again. I...

Midi CC Firing Off
Anyone have any ideas why Midi Controller #3, the LFO Amount controller, fires off a value of 64 every so often? It means I am rather loathe to connect my TE as a midi input device as it will screw up my other devices.

I'd also like to point out that if you're lack of enthusiasm is due to the key editor, I don't think you're going to have a better time with Ableton Live's editor. Ableton's strength is the way you can do pattern sequencing, but I actually had a more difficult time programming in the notes with Able...
