I BOUGHT A USED VOYAGER FOR $2K IN 2004. I WAS LEERY MYSELF, BUT I WAS SICK OF MY VIRUS KEYBOARD, THE SOUNDS IRRITATED ME AFTER 40 MINUTES... THE VOYAGER, ON THE OTHER HAND....IT FIT IN PERFECTLY WITH MY BEATS, INSTANTANEOUSLY! THAT SYNTH IS MAGIC, STRAIT UP. YOU'RE GETTING OLDER EVERY DAY, BUY THE ...

get a Fender Rhodes electric piano. Depending where you live, you can cop one pretty cheap, they sound beautiful on their own AND can be effected like an e-guitar w/FX, wah pedal, & the like. At the same time its got a piano feel, being that it uses hammers & u can play songs without having ...

It sucks having to pay for shipping both ways PLUS labor for the installation. I been lovin Moogmusic, but this kinda blows. I live in Hawaii & it aint cheap to ship this puppy out to Ashville, NC. They should at least do the mod for free or real extra cheap...We're talkin a $400 bill here w/shi...

I'd say to record the midi data of your bassline into the mpc just so its tight with your drums the way you like. but since you can only sequence 1 sound at a time from the Voyager, you gotta be selective in terms of why you're choosing to seqence that 1 sound as opposed to others. Once you do that ...

An incredible modern album using the Minimoog for 95% of all synth sounds on it, the remaining 5% is Andromeda, is called "MILES_GURTU". My favorite 'new music' album for the last 2 years! Robert Miles and Trilok Gurtu are the names implied, but there are many other amazing artists on ther...

then there is the artform aspect of sampling. sure, if you're gonna compose a fugue or something like that, you want live instruments. But for hiphop production, or creating new forms of music, sampling alone is an awesome mode. there's also the whole thing with the lo-fi samplers of old. I think th...

I use a JC55, which is essentially the same but with 2 8" speakers, still gets way too f*ckin loud for me... anyways, been using it for 3years, and I do like it, I think the reverb is pretty good, but overall the sound is a bit brittle and cold. I've been debating a Twin-Rvb for the last year o...
