Hi, yes, the sound is perfectly normal - for the Little Phatty. It is a known issue with the LP. There is a fix, but you'll need an engineer to sort it out. See here for what you can do about it http://moogmusic.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4981&highlight=moog+responds+noise and here for some more ...

Yes, unfortunately, this is normal. There is a known issue with the Tribute and Stage that there is a digital interference of some sort in the upper registar, which (ironically) sounds like aliasising. There is a mod available. Contact Amos for details. For some of the complicated story you can try:...

Better still, try the Zebra preset Thank you Bob next to the LP Thank You Bob. How close is close enough?

Another vote for Zebra. The 2.2 version has a completely new set of presets by Howard Scarr, which even contain a number of emulations of the LP. They don't sound the same but they're not at all bad. It's far and away my favourite soft synth. And created by a pleasant, responsive, small company too ...

Hi Amos, can you let us non-USA Moogaholics know what we should do next regarding our Little Phatties.

Thanks

Thanks for your help. I did all you suggested and still no joy. I was getting a preset received signal very briefly when I tried to morph but it was not loading to the LP's buffer. However, I then tried swapping my midi device and used an old Midisport 2x2 I had in a draw and, what do you know, the ...

Hi Dlearyus No. When I go into preset genetics and pick 'mommy' and 'daddy' patches and have all the 'exclude' buttons unchecked and then press morph I get test tones on the first 20 patches on my LP NOT the editor. The test tones vanish when I power up the LP again. I am unable to 'auto audition' t...

LP editor/librarian problem with morphing

The morphing and preset mixing function does not seem to work when I'm using the editor librarian. I load up the sounds I have on my LP to the editor, then try and morph/mutate them etc but it results in a number of the initial presets on my LP being overwritten by test tones (which disappera when I...

I'm not sure Moog could begin discounting the librarian now. Would that be fair on the people who have already bought it?

"Sorry" but my buttons work beautifully. I've had my LP stage about six months and no problems at all so far. Sorry to hear your buttons are sluggish.

Great thread

I've been enjoying listening to the music in this thread and thought I'd add my two-penny worth. It's my rendition of the theme to Dr Who, played on the LP. It is posted elsewhere on this forum, but just to keep all the tunes together, I thought I'd post it here too. Hope you like it. http://www.mjt...

To Sine: the sound is noticeable in the delicate patches towards the highter end of the scale. Playing through a PA you wouldn't notice it with all the ohter noise going one. Recording a lead line you probably wouldn't notice it in a mix although you would if the sound was soloed. As I said in my or...

I'm not sure. I'm assuming it was the same digital noise referred to occuring in the Tribute Edition. There is definitely some kind of bleed through noise on the Stage Edition. It can be heard most on quiet patches in the higher registers, which is a pity as the noise muddies the delicate sounds the...

Yes, I'm positive I have a Stage LP (the rubberised cheeks are a giveaway). And so far as I know, there is no fix for the noise as yet. It's a fault known to the guys at Moog (see email from Amos below). "We're working on that aspect. It is in fact a tiny bit of high-frequency interference occu...
