Wahwah lead
Wahwah lead
I want to make a lead sound on my Voyager with a wahwah effect to be activated with my modulation wheel.
Anybody can help me how to do it?
Any suggestions would be welcome!

Re: Wahwah lead
Mod wheel to filter cutoff.
"Music expresses that which can not be said and on which it is impossible to be silent."
Re: Wahwah lead
Tried that one, but that's no wahwah....
Re: Wahwah lead
Yup! Set the Mod buss Soruce to ON, Destination to Filt., Shaping to ON, Amount to 10. Turn down the Filter Cutoff and turn up the Filter Resonance to just before it starts to self oscillate.
Re: Wahwah lead
Thanks for the tip. But this sounds more like a weewee than a wahwah
I think it's not possible to create the typical wah sound with just the filter cut off.
There is a preset which comes close: T.Wolfs Guitar. (I have moved it, not sure which preset it was originally). But this is done with the sync and I want to create a saw lead without the sync characteristic....

Re: Wahwah lead
Wahs are created via a bandpass filter and not a lo pass filter.

Re: Wahwah lead
Sounds promising, this bandpass filter option. Could you please explain a bit more? How to use this with a modulation wheel?
Re: Wahwah lead
There is no bandpass filter on a Voyager. You can attempt to emulate one sort of by setting the filter to HP/LP and adjusting it with the Cutoff and Spacing control and then using Mod wheel to adjust Cutoff. Probably work best with MONO Out.

Re: Wahwah lead
I just bought a used Dunlop Cry Baby wah pedal for less than $60. That is certainly a cheap and effective way to get what you are looking for.

Re: Wahwah lead
Is there no other way? The T.Wolfs Guitar preset has the wahwah effect I am looking for. The point is that the wahwah is there but the modulation is automatised. Don't know how to create the wahwah effect with the modulation wheel.
Moreover, it's a synced sound.... And I want it on a sawtooth.

Re: Wahwah lead
I haven't examined the T WOlf preset.
Try to isolate exactly where the modulation is occuring and what is causing it, then eliminate it.
Or you can just program the lead that you want, and in addition to using the tips above, try to go in the menu and change the filter poles.

Re: Wahwah lead
A HP/LP filter in serial connection is truly a bandpass filter (wah-wah). A crybaby pedal will however sound a bit different from voyagers own bandpass.
Voyager OS, Prophet 08, Rhodes MkI 73, NordLead2 and more...
Re: Wahwah lead
hook up a talkbox, stick the tube in your mouth, press a key and say "wahwah"!
